NEW CAR

NEW CAR

Postby Halifax » Tue Dec 16, 2014 5:49 am

After 9 years of driving vehicles worth no more than 2 grand. I present my first brand new car, 2015 Ford Fusion 2.0L AWD. I didn't plan on purchasing a new car for a year at least, but a car accident totaled my daily driver Miata. I had an existential crisis choosing between this as a reasonable highly functional choice and the new 5.0 Mustangs that are so awesome. Reason won out.

However, I did order new Springs to drop it another 7/8", coldair intake, and new sway bars to throw in next weekend. Then in January I will setup appointment to have it tinted, and another appointment to have it tuned (w/ multiple tunes accessible through steering column inputs). Should be a pretty slick ride for a few years and then I'll pick up someone's 2015/2016 5.0 Mustang for 20K as my weekend warrior.

Congrats man, nothing quite like a new car. Now the important question here is how exactly you managed to squeeze into a miata in the first place.

And when you bought the miata how did you break the news to your parents that you are gay?

Nice fusion though

I had to remove almost all the unnecessary cushioning from the driver's seat so my head wouldn't touch the soft top, also removed the sun visors for improved visibility, and removed the interior door arm rests (replaced with straps). It was a good car for $800 w/ $250 of year maintenance as stuff broke on it. 28mpg @ 80 mph with 277K miles on the car is impressive.

Pfft. Zoid spoken like a man who has never driven a Miata. Miata's are just scaled down race cars. They make just enough power to be entertaining but not enough that you will ever out-drive their handling capabilities (within reason).

Hell, I might get another Miata for weekend autocross shenanigans.

also, its the best

Oh yeah. Ford definitely borrowed aesthetics when they owned Aston.
